How to Make Waiter or Salesman Selection Mandatory

To ensure accurate tracking of employee performance, commissions, or service accountability, you can force cashiers to assign a specific staff member to every order. By enabling the Waiter Selection Mandatory setting, the POS system will strictly prevent any order from being saved or finalized until a salesman (and delivery driver, if applicable) has been selected.

Part 1: Enabling the Mandatory Selection Feature

  1. Open POS Settings: From your main POS screen, click the Settings icon (the gear symbol) to open the configuration menu.

  2. Navigate to Global Settings: The "POS Local Settings" window will appear. Ensure you are currently viewing the Global Settings tab.
  3. Locate the Setting: Look near the lower-middle section of the settings page for the option labeled Waiter Selection Mandatory.
  4. Enable the Option: Click the toggle switch next to this setting. The toggle will turn green, indicating the mandatory requirement is now active.

  5. Save Your Settings: Click the Save Settings button located in the bottom right corner of the window. You will be taken back to the main POS screen.

Part 2: How the Feature Works During Checkout

  1. Process an Order: Create a new order as usual by selecting products (e.g., Night Dress, Comforter, Dress Cotton) and adding them to the cart.
  2. Attempt to Finalize: Click the Deliver & Save (or standard Save/Print) button to complete the transaction.
  3. Select a Salesman (Mandatory): The system will intercept the save process and display a Choose Salesman pop-up window. Note: As explained in the video, you absolutely cannot save this order without making a selection here. Click on the name of the staff member who handled the order (e.g., John Sales, Salesman 02, etc.).

  4. Select a Driver (If Applicable): Immediately after selecting the salesman, a second pop-up titled Choose a Driver will appear for delivery orders. Click on the name of the assigned driver (e.g., Aadil, Raheem, etc.).

  5. Order Saved: Once all mandatory personnel have been selected, the system will instantly process, save, and print the order.

Terminology Note

Although the setting is specifically named "Waiter Selection Mandatory," it applies universally to whichever staff role you use to process orders on the floor. Depending on your business type, the pop-up will prompt you to "Choose Salesman" or "Choose Waiter." This feature guarantees 100% staff attribution on all your daily sales reports.
