How to Enable Touchpad Selection for Customer Types
By default, selecting a customer category (like VIP, Premium, or Walk-in) is done using a standard dropdown menu on the main order screen. If your business uses a tablet or a touchscreen point-of-sale (POS) monitor, interacting with small dropdowns can be difficult. By enabling the Customer Type Selection Touchpad feature, you can transform this dropdown into a large, touch-friendly popup grid, making checkout faster and easier for your staff.
Part 1: Enabling the Touchpad Interface
First, you need to turn on the touchpad setting from your global configurations.
- Navigate to your main Settings menu and open the POS Global Settings window.
- Click on the POS Local Settings tab located at the top of the window.
- Scroll through the available options until you locate the toggle labeled Customer Type Selection Touchpad.

- Click the Save Settings button in the bottom right corner of the window to apply your changes.
Part 2: Using the New Touchpad Menu
Once the setting is saved, the interface for selecting customer types will immediately change to a touch-optimized layout.
- Return to your main POS dashboard (refresh the page if necessary).
- Locate the C-Type (Customer Type) field in the top right corner of your screen. Notice that the standard dropdown arrow is now gone.
- Click or tap directly on the C-Type text box.
- A large Choose Customer Type modal window will pop up in the center of the screen. Instead of a tiny text list, this window displays large, easy-to-tap buttons for every customer category you have created (e.g., Express, Emirates 15% discount, Premium, etc.).
*[Image: The large "Choose Customer Type" popup window showing the touch-friendly buttons for different categories]* - Simply tap the desired category button. The modal will automatically close, and the selected type will be applied to the order.
Hardware Recommendation
While this feature works perfectly fine with a standard computer mouse, it is highly recommended to enable it if your cashiers are operating the software on iPads, Android tablets, or dedicated touchscreen POS hardware to prevent accidental misclicks.
