How to Configure KOT Printing Methods and Designs
Kitchen Order Tickets (KOT) are essential for instantly routing order details to your prep station or kitchen. Your point-of-sale (POS) system allows you to configure specific KOT printing methods based on whether your business operates online or offline. This guide will help you select the correct backend printing method and choose a matching ticket design.
Part 1: Selecting the Right Printing Method (Online vs. Offline)
You must first tell the system how to communicate with your KOT printer. The method you choose depends on your software environment.
- Navigate to your main Settings and open the POS Global Settings window.
- Scroll through the settings list until you locate the KOT Print Option section.
- Click the dropdown menu. You will see three main options:
- AIP Printing: Select this if you are an offline customer. This is a built-in method that does not require any third-party tools to function.
- QZ Industrial Printing: Select this if you are an online customer. This is the standard recommended method for cloud-based or online setups.
- Offline Printing

Part 2: Choosing the Ticket Design Template
After defining the printing method, you need to select how the ticket will visually look when it prints.
- Directly next to the printing option, locate the KOT Print Design dropdown menu.
- Click this dropdown to view the available KOT design templates.

- Once your method and design are both configured, click the Save Settings button in the bottom right corner of the window to apply your changes.
Note on Compatibility
It is very important that you select the correct core printing method (Online vs. Offline) before choosing your design. If you are an online customer but accidentally select the offline AIP printing method, your KOT tickets may fail to generate correctly.
