Remove Item With Admin Password

How to Require an Admin Password to Remove Items

This guide explains how to enable the "Remove item with Admin Password" setting in your Point of Sale (POS) system. Enabling this feature adds an extra layer of security by ensuring that users cannot delete or remove an item from an active or saved order without administrative authorization.

Part 1: Enabling the Setting

First, you need to activate the security requirement from your system's global settings.

  1. Navigate to your POS Global Settings or Local Settings screen.

  3. Click the toggle switch to Enable (turn on) the feature.
  4. Click the Save Settings button located at the bottom right of the screen to apply your changes.

Part 2: How It Works During an Order

Once the setting is saved, the system will immediately begin requiring an administrator password whenever an attempt is made to remove an item from a customer's order list.

  1. Open an existing order or create a new order by adding items (e.g., shirts, dresses) to the cart and saving it.
  2. To test the feature, attempt to delete an item from the selected items list by clicking the "X" (remove) icon next to the item name.
*[Image: Active order screen showing the cursor clicking the 'X' remove icon next to an item]*
  3. An "Authentication Required" pop-up window will appear on the screen, stating: "Please enter admin password for authentication."

  4. Type the correct Admin Password into the provided field.
  5. Click the Green Checkmark (OK) button to authorize the request.
  6. Once successfully authenticated, the item will immediately be removed from the selected list.

💡 Best Practice

Keep this setting enabled to prevent staff members from accidentally deleting items or making unauthorized modifications to orders after they have been initiated. Ensure your admin password is kept secure and only shared with authorized managers.
