How to Hide Product Costs from Non-Admin Staff

By default, when your staff uses the barcode search tool to add a product to an order, the system displays the item's original purchasing cost alongside its retail sales price. To keep your wholesale costs and profit margins confidential, you can use the Disable Cost Display for Non-Admins feature. This setting completely hides the "Cost" column from standard users (like cashiers) while keeping it visible for administrators.

Part 1: Enabling the Cost Display Restriction

You must be logged in as an Administrator to enable this security restriction.

1. Navigate to your main Settings menu and open the POS Global Settings window.
2. Scroll through the settings configuration until you locate the option labeled Disable Cost Display for Non-Admins.

3. Click the toggle switch to enable the restriction (turn it ON).
4. Click the Save Settings button in the bottom right corner of the window to apply your changes globally.

Part 2: What Standard Staff Members Will See

Once the setting is saved, the cost information is immediately protected from non-admin accounts.

1. When a standard user (for example, a cashier logging in with the username "cash") signs into the POS system, they will process orders normally.
2. If the cashier clicks the Barcode search icon to quick-add a product to an order, the product search window will pop up.
3. Inside this product grid, the Cost column is now completely hidden. The cashier will only see columns such as Name, Model, Unit, Stock, Sales (Retail Price), and Quantity.
