How to Restrict Discount Access to Admin Users Only

To protect your profit margins and prevent unauthorized price reductions, you can restrict the ability to apply order discounts. By enabling the Disable Discount for Non-Admins feature, the system will completely remove the "Discount" button from the point-of-sale (POS) screen for all standard staff accounts (such as cashiers). Only authorized Admin users will be able to grant discounts.

Part 1: Enabling the Discount Restriction

You must be logged into the POS system using an Admin account to configure this security setting.

1. Navigate to your main Settings menu and open the POS Global Settings window.
2. Scroll through the general settings list until you locate the option labeled Disable Discount for Non-Admins.

3. Click the toggle switch to enable it (turn it ON).
4. Click the Save Settings button located in the bottom right corner of the window to apply your changes globally.

Part 2: What Standard Staff Members Will See

Once this setting is saved, the discount option is immediately hidden from all non-admin accounts.

1. When a standard user (for example, a cashier logging in with the username "cash") signs into the POS system, they can navigate to the order screen and add items to a cart as usual.
2. However, when the cashier looks at the right-hand action menu (where buttons like Invoice, Print, and Delete are located), the Discount button will be completely missing.

3. Because the button is removed, the standard user has no way to trigger the discount pop-up or reduce the price of the items in the cart.
