Always Ask Waiter Selection

How to Enable the "Always Ask Waiter Selection" Prompt

The Always Ask Waiter Selection feature ensures that cashiers never forget to assign an order to a specific staff member. When activated, the POS system will automatically display a pop-up prompt asking you to select the assigned staff member (such as a waiter or delivery driver) every single time you attempt to save and finalize an order.

Part 1: Turning on the Prompt

  1. Access POS Settings: From your main POS checkout screen, click the Settings icon (the gear symbol) to open the configuration menu.

  2. Navigate to Global Settings: The "POS Local Settings" window will appear. Ensure that you are viewing the Global Settings tab.
  3. Locate the Setting: Scroll down to the middle section of the screen and find the option labeled Always ask Waiter Selection.
  4. Enable the Option: Click the toggle switch next to this setting. The switch will turn green to indicate that the automatic prompt is now active.

  5. Save Your Settings: Click the Save Settings button located in the bottom right corner of the window. You will be redirected back to the main POS screen.

Part 2: How the Feature Works During Checkout

  1. Create an Order: Begin processing a transaction by selecting items and adding them to the shopping cart.
  2. Finalize the Order: Click the green Deliver & Save - Print (or standard Save) button at the bottom right of the screen.
  3. Select the Staff Member: A pop-up window (e.g., "Choose a Driver" or "Choose a Waiter", depending on the order type) will immediately appear on your screen. Click the name of the staff member responsible for the order to complete the transaction.

Part 3: Disabling the Feature

If you find that your business workflow does not require tracking individual staff members for every order, you can easily disable this feature. Simply return to the Global Settings, switch the Always ask Waiter Selection toggle to the off (gray) position, and click Save Settings. Once disabled, the staff selection pop-up will no longer appear when you save an order.

Why use this feature?

By presenting this prompt automatically, you eliminate the risk of a cashier rushing through a transaction and forgetting to assign the sale to the correct employee. It keeps your sales attribution data highly accurate, which is vital for calculating employee commissions, managing deliveries, and tracking service accountability.
