Driver Selection Mandatory

How to Enable and Use the Mandatory Driver Selection Feature

This guide explains how to configure and use the "Driver Selection Mandatory" feature in your Point of Sale (POS) system. By enabling this setting, the system will require your staff to assign a specific delivery driver to an order before the final delivery process can be completed, ensuring better tracking and accountability.

Part 1: Enabling the Driver Selection Setting

Follow these steps to activate the mandatory driver requirement in your system settings:

Step 1: Navigate to your main system Settings and open the POS Local Settings tab.

Step 2: Scroll through the settings list until you locate the toggle switch labeled Driver Selection Mandatory.

Step 3: Click the toggle switch to enable it (the switch will turn green to indicate it is active).

Step 4: Click the Save Settings button at the bottom of the screen to apply your changes.

Part 2: Creating a Standard Order

Once the setting is enabled, you can continue processing orders normally. Here is a brief recap of generating an order:

Step 1: On the main POS interface, select the appropriate service type (e.g., Wash Only, Dry Clean) and choose the items the customer is submitting.

Step 2: Add the items to the cart, verify the subtotal, and click the Save Order button on the right-hand menu.

Step 3: In the payment window, enter the tendered amount (e.g., cash) and click Save to confirm the transaction.

Part 3: Processing the Delivery with Mandatory Driver Selection

When it is time to deliver the previously saved order, the mandatory driver protocol will engage. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Locate the customer's order. You can do this by opening the search pop-up and selecting Orders made today to view a list of recent transactions.

Step 2: Find the specific order in the records list and click the Deliver button located on the right side of the corresponding row.

Step 3: The system will open the final delivery screen. Click Deliver & Save (or Deliver & Save - Print).

Step 4: A "Choose a Driver" pop-up window will instantly appear displaying a list of your available drivers.

Step 5: Click on the name of the assigned driver. The system will immediately process the delivery, and the order will now be officially assigned to that specific driver's delivery queue.

📌 Important Note

Because the Driver Selection Mandatory option is active, you cannot bypass the pop-up or make the delivery without selecting a driver. The system intentionally restricts the completion of the delivery until a valid driver is chosen from the list.
