How to Restrict Settings Access to Admin Users Only

To protect your point-of-sale (POS) system's global configurations from unauthorized changes, you can restrict access to the settings menu. By enabling the Disable Settings for Non-Admins feature, the settings gear icon will be completely hidden from all standard staff accounts (like cashiers or standard users). Only users with full Admin privileges will be able to view and modify system settings.

Part 1: Enabling the Restriction (Admin Only)

You must be logged into the POS system using an Admin account to perform these steps.

1. Navigate to your main Settings and open the POS Global Settings window.
2. Scroll through the available options until you locate Disable Settings for Non-Admins.

3. Click the toggle switch to enable it (turn it ON).
4. Click the Save Settings button in the bottom right corner to lock in your changes.

Part 2: What the Non-Admin User Sees

Once the setting is saved, the restriction is applied immediately to all standard user accounts.

1. If a standard user (for example, a cashier with the username "cash") logs into the POS system, their main dashboard will load normally so they can process orders.

2. However, when looking at the top right corner of the screen where the Settings (Gear Icon) normally resides, the button will be entirely removed.

3. Because the button is gone, the standard user cannot access the POS Global Settings, printer configurations, or any other system-level preferences.
